On Thursday, August 6, APMA President Dr. Patrick DeHeer welcomed guests to the 2026 National in Nashville by announcing how different such conferences will be going forward.

In September 2027, the APMA will hold a reimagined National Conference in Washington, DC, replacing the current format by broadening the educational offerings. Until now, the continuing education offerings at these trade shows have primarily focused on clinical topics. But beginning next year, these sessions will expand to include education about subjects including advocacy, reimbursement, building stronger businesses, leadership, innovation, and more. “The continuing education marketplace has fundamentally changed,” he said. “APMA must continually ask where we can provide the greatest value. No organization is better positioned than ours to prepare physicians for the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of podiatric medicine. Our 2027 annual meeting will mark the beginning of a bold new direction.”

The organization will provide more details as they become available, at APMA.org and through its partners.
