ISTTT Aims to Improve Advanced Limb Salvage Worldwide
Surgeons and researchers from North America, Europe, Asia, and South America have established the International Society of Transverse Tibial Transport (ISTTT), a global professional organization dedicated to advancing the understanding and clinical application of transverse tibial transport (TTT) in diabetic wound care and complex lower limb salvage.
The Society brings together specialists in diabetic wound management and complex limb salvage from the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, India, Singapore, and Chile. Its formation builds on original research and clinical data contributed by colleagues in China, India, and Russia, where TTT has been studied and applied in patients who would otherwise face limb loss. DPM Degrees: Dead End—Or Just a Start?
There have been too many stories about the DPM degree being a “nowhere” degree except for in practicing podiatry, whereas other medical degrees offer endless other opportunities. From a personal perspective, I would like to take a hatchet to that and bury that story six feet under (or more!).

What happened to the Target Probe and Educate Reports?
Many of you have asked about this. Due to the hard work of some fellow members of the DME Council, we are proud to announce that the Target Probe and Educate reports will be back in November. As was pointed out by the DME Council, the provision of TPE by the MAC is a CMS requirement.
Kudos to my fellow DME Council members for getting the DME MAC back on track!

Developing a Thicker Skin As a Leader
Do you have an employee who frequently has their feelings hurt, who seems to take everything personally, or who is prone to tears? Do you replay scenes from work in your head at night, beating yourself up for not handling or anticipating things better, or for making an honest mistake? Or do you or your employees find yourselves feeling hurt, embarrassed, or betrayed by a careless remark, a funny look, or the least bit of criticism? If so, you would all benefit greatly from having a thicker skin.

Webinar: The Surgery That Suddenly Falls Off Your Schedule Was Lost Long Ago
A patient who isn’t ready on the morning of surgery becomes a cancellation, a no-show or a case that starts late. By then, there are no easy choices left. The cost shows up in places a cancellation report doesn’t track. Block time is already committed. Staff are already scheduled. The patient waits longer for a procedure. And the same pattern repeats after discharge, when questions that could have been answered in advance arrive as phone calls instead.
Quality care in an ASC starts long before the patient arrives. When patients are prepared, informed, engaged and pre-qualified, ASCs can reduce avoidable cancellations and no-shows, cut delays and field fewer discharge questions. Friday, 10.9.26, 1:00 PM Eastern.
