The Texas Podiatric Medical Foundation was proud and humbled to treat 750 underserved and indigent patients at the Mexico mission in August.
Twelve podiatric residents were sponsored to attend and performed 28 surgeries. About 500 orthotics were provided by the Forward Motion team, and additional shoes were provided for seniors and children. The group also conducted screenings and provided shoes for two local orphanages.
Thank you to the medical team, volunteers for their six days of dedication to make a difference for these families at the 2026 Mexico Mission in San Miguel de Allende. Among the feedback the volunteers received was, "This experience was the best I have had in my life" and, "Thank you for helping me to work without pain."
Mission chiefs Dr. Jim Kutchback and Dr. Chris Browning devote their time all year and thanked the team for a terrific trip and its focus on making a difference in so many lives.
In addition, this year a memorial mural was painted at the San Miguel clinic in honor of Dr. Don Falknor, former mission chief and president. His message lives on in the mission and is inscribed on the mural: “Haciendo la diferencia trabajando junto!" Making a difference working together.
